The Golden Globe nominee is into astrology “big time,” she says, sharing why she enjoys getting her star chart read
Astrology is “just a fun reminder of things that could be positive for your life,” says the Aries
Kate Hudson is an Aries and proud of it.
The Golden Globe-nominated star of Song Sung Blue (in theaters now) admits to PEOPLE that she’s “big time” into astrology. “I get my chart read by different people a lot,” she says with a smile. “Just 'cause it's so fun.”
Born on April 19, the 46-year-old Hudson explains that “there's Eastern and Western [astrology] and I'm into all of it.” And for newcomers or skeptics, she recommends digging into your entire star chart, rather than just a zodiac or sun sign.
“When you get into the depth of a chart, it's so interesting 'cause people who don't believe in those things, sometimes find it when they get a whole chart read,” the Running Point star says. “They're like, 'Oh, well now it makes sense what astrology really is.’”

Getting a chart read, of course, “is a wonderful thing to take with a grain of salt,” adds Hudson. “Because not everybody's the best reader. And I think instinctually, we know best.”

But listening to your instincts while exploring astrological signs is a way to “create your own roadmap,” she says. “Astrology is just a fun way to look at, maybe energetically, how things are aligning and how you can access parts of your life and where you can focus and prioritize — if it sounds good to you… That's how I look at it. It's just a fun reminder of things that could be positive for your life.”
Back in March, the Oscar nominee joined Kylie Kelce on her podcast Not Gonna Lie, bonding with the host over their shared status as Aries — the "best sign of the zodiac," as they called it. “You gotta have a little fire sometimes,” quipped Kelce, 33, referencing the Fire sign.
