VisionQuest fans may have already cracked the mystery of who hired Paladin to hunt down Vision. A familiar MCU villain with unfinished business and ties to Madripoor sits at the center of this growing theory.
VisionQuest fans on who hired Paladin
VisionQuest fans now believe Sharon Carter hired Paladin to hunt down Vision. The show’s first two episodes revealed that an unknown Client placed a major bounty on Vision’s head. Paladin accepted the contract and attempted to kidnap the former Avenger. Early theories identified Jocasta as the Client, but recent episodes have ruled her out.
The focus has now shifted to Carter after VisionQuest trailers showed scenes set in Madripoor. Carter established herself as the Power Broker in Madripoor during The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. She ruled the city’s criminal underworld and dealt in stolen government secrets. Her MCU storyline has remained unresolved since the 2021 series finale.

Fans on X have rallied behind this theory with growing conviction. One user posted, “Many suspect Jocasta, but I think it’s Power Broker — Sharon Carter, aka former Agent 13!” They added that her unfinished arc makes this the perfect chance to close her chapter. Another user echoed similar certainty, writing, “The Client is 10000000% Sharon Carter I feel it in my BONES.”
Another key detail further fuels the theory. During Vision’s fight with Paladin, F.R.I.D.A.Y. identified the bounty hunter’s ammunition as adamantium bullets. Captain America: Brave New World centered on controlling adamantium from the Celestial Island. One user connected the dots, suggesting the metal now circulates on the black market. They pointed to Carter’s Madripoor operation as the likely distribution network. Another user agreed, replying, “Sharon as Power Broker is a clean fit for how it got out.”
Emily VanCamp portrayed Carter across multiple MCU projects since 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Her transition into the Power Broker drew mixed reactions but left her arc open for a return.
