United States forces on Jan. 7 were attempting to board a Venezuela-linked oil tanker in the Atlantic Ocean, according to multiple reports.

The tanker, named the Marinera, reportedly fled America’s blockade of sanctioned vessels near Venezuela and was being escorted by a Russian submarine, according to the Wall Street Journal as well as reports from Fox News, CBS and ABC.

The U.S. Coast Guard and at least one helicopter were reportedly attempting to take control of the tanker.
