One does not simply walk into Wembley Stadium... but after years of hard work, Sam Fender looks set to land a huge career milestone as he teases a 2027 stadium tour.
The Mercury Prize-winning singer-songwriter and his band released a Lord of the Rings-inspired teaser video in which the “beacons” at several stadiums around the UK and Ireland are lit.
Fender, 32, seemed to take on the role of hero hobbit Frodo Baggins while his bandmates appeared as characters such as Merry and Pippin, Gandalf the Grey, the elf Legolas and warrior Aragorn.
The venues featured include St James’s Park in Newcastle – where Fender performed three headline shows in 2025 – the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, Malahide Castle in Ireland, Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Murrayfield in Edinburgh and the 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium in London.
The Wembley show would mark Fender’s biggest show to date. It looks like as though the singer will have a busy year ahead, amid rumours that he could also be set to headline the returning Glastonbury Festival, having last performed there in 2022 just before headliner Billie Eilish.

The “Hypersonic Missiles” singer is now one of the favourites to top the Pyramid Stage when Glastonbury returns after its 2026 fallow year, along with Irish rock band Fontaines DC and pop stars Harry Styles and Taylor Swift.
Fender was planning on having a quieter 12 months after his 2026 tour, telling the crowd at his show at Wythenshawe Park in 2025 that he wanted a year off: “I’m gonna go away at the end of this lot of shows and sort my s*** out and get my voice as good as possible and make another album and f*** loads of new tunes next year.”
However, he wasn’t expecting the breakout success of his duet “Rein Me In” with pop-soul artist Olivia Dean, which became the longest-running Number One in British history after spending 23 non-consecutive weeks at the top spot of the UK Singles Chart.
The song became a runaway hit after initially landing at Number 86 on the charts, ending up at Number One after 35 weeks.
His latest album, People Watching, received mostly critical praise and won the 2025 Mercury Prize at the award ceremony’s first show held outside of London. The event was instead hosted in Newcastle, a stone’s throw from where Fender was raised in North Shields.
It is likely Fender will confirm his 2027 tour dates in the coming days.
