Sydney Sweeney is getting into character this holiday season. The actress, 29, rocked a hairstyle straight out of this Christmas classic in her latest Syrn campaign.
Sweeney promoted her lingerie brand’s holiday line, which drops October 27, by channeling Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Euphoria alum rocked the same braided updo that Taylor Momsen famously sported in the 2000 film, pairing it with a plaid loungewear set consisting of a tie-front cami and shorts. Sweeney added on a satin cape, as well as white knee-high stockings.

The starlet’s character study didn’t end there: she also evoked Sally from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, straightening her blonde strands and wearing a dark lip complete with drawn-on stitches as she modeled some lacy black lingerie.
Earlier this month, a new study by MyHeritage revealed that Sweeney and Marilyn Monroe share a common ancestor. The findings, which were shared with Entertainment Weekly, show that Sweeney and Monroe are ninth cousins once removed and are related via their fathers, Steven Sweeney and Charles Stanley Gifford, respectively. Both of them are descendants of a man named Ezra Perry, who settled in Massachusetts in the 1600s.

“People have always drawn parallels between Sydney Sweeney and Marilyn Monroe, but seeing their paths align on a deeper level inspired us to look for a real bond in the MyHeritage archives,” Roi Mandel, Director of Research at MyHeritage, said in a statement.
“Uncovering their shared branch was incredible, it’s a powerful reminder that humanity is one vast family tree, and when we dig deep, we uncover how remarkably interconnected we all are,” he added.

Back in February, Sweeney paid homage to Monroe by wearing a nearly identical dress to one that the Some Like It Hot star wore on the cover of Life Magazine in 1952. The ivory Ceil Chapman number features an off-the-shoulder neckline and ruching throughout.
Sweeney also channeled the pop culture icon last December, when she wore a plunging halter gown reminiscent of Monroe’s dress in The Seven Year Itch at the Los Angeles premiere of The Housemaid.
