The Stranger Things' finale trailer is here
Netflix unveiled the preview for the series finale on Tuesday, Dec. 30
The third and final installment of season 5 drops on Wednesday, Dec. 31
The Stranger Things series finale is just a day away and Netflix is giving fans a glimpse of the action early.
On Tuesday, Dec. 30, the streamer unleashed the trailer for the third and final installment of Stranger Things season 5 ā featuring the same characters that fans have seen grow up since the show's debut in 2016.
The clip kicks off with Jim Hopper (David Harbour) encouraging Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) to fight "one last time," before a few flashbacks appear on the screen as he narrates the bulk of the visual.
"Life has been so unfair to you. Your childhood was taken from you, you've been attacked, manipulated like terrible people. But you never let it break you," he says. "Fight for the days on the other side of this. Fight for a world beyond Hawkins."

While Hopper gives his speech, the trailer flashes images of the cast ā Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo and more ā before a closer look at Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) can be seen in all his glory. Matarazzo's Dustin Henderson can be screaming, while the camera then cuts to Hopper holding a gun.
"Let's end this, kid," he appears to tell Eleven.
The visual wraps on a red lightening flash in the sky, a quip from Dustin ("Mother of God") and the promise of one final episode to come on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

The finale will mark the third and final installment of season 5, which saw Volumes 1 and 2 arrive on Nov. 26 and Dec. 25, respectively.
The series finale is also set to drop in theaters. According to Tudum, the screenings will take place at over 500 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Series co-creator Matt Duffer revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that "initially," a special release of the finale wasn't "the plan at all."
"Originally, the finale season was just going to be split into two volumes: Volume 1 and Volume 2," Duffer said. "After we were done filming, Netflix approached us with the idea of putting the finale on its own day, which we thought was cool because we thought it would allow us to pitch our movie theater idea."
He added, "Whatās fun about seeing something in the theater, we think, is that everyone is experiencing it for the first time together. What we liked about this particular release pattern is that it allows that opportunity for a group of fans to sit and watch this unfold together."

Speaking with PEOPLE at the season 5 premiere in Los Angeles on Nov. 6, Harbour, 50, explained why seeing the cast and crew come together to mark the end of the series was "bittersweet."
"It's beautiful. The fans, the people that love the show, what we're trying to do this season, how we really want to pay it off, we really want to tell this story," Harbour said.
He added, "And then at the end of it, it's also like I just see all these people that I've loved and known so deeply for 10 years and we have to move on and let go. And that is life."
The final installment of Stranger Things premieres on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET. Volumes 1 and 2 of season 5 are now available to stream on Netflix.
