During Shia LaBeouf‘s recent court appearance, a judge reportedly ordered him to undergo substance abuse treatment. The ruling comes shortly after the actor’s recent arrest in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

Shia LaBeouf ordered to rehab, claims report

Following his recent arrest in New Orleans, Shia LaBeouf has been ordered to complete substance abuse treatment. He must also submit to drug testing and post a $100,000 bond as part of the conditions for his release.

LaBeouf was allegedly involved in an altercation at Royal Street Inn & R Bar during Mardi Gras on February 17. The confrontation reportedly escalated to a physical brawl after the Transformers actor allegedly hurled homophobic slurs.

Following the incident, the police arrested LaBeouf on two misdemeanor battery charges. He was later released on his own recognizance. However, the actor recently appeared before Judge Simone Levine on Thursday, February 26, who revoked his initial release without bail.

According to a report by The Guardian, the judge said that the allegations against LaBeouf of using homophobic slurs had not become part of the official court record at the time of his release. The actor was summoned to court on Thursday, February 26, where Judge Levine revoked his release, citing the “seriousness of the offense alleged”.

Criminal defense attorney Sarah Chervinsky, who represents LaBeouf, stated that the results of his drug and alcohol test did not show her client to be under the influence. However, Levine expressed her concerns that the actor “does not take his alcohol addiction seriously.”

The judge also ordered LaBeouf to pay a bond of $100,000 as well as undergo treatment for substance abuse and participate in a drug testing program. The actor paid the required sum the following day and has been released under the newly imposed conditions.

LaBeouf’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 19. As of now, the actor has not made any official statements to address the incident or the ongoing legal proceedings.
