Rebecca Ferguson has a ton of FOMO when it comes to *Dune: Part Three*.

The actress, who portrayed Lady Jessica in the first two installments of Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi franchise, will have a minor role in its third and final film.

"I just dipped my toe in. I have no, sort of, comments on it," Ferguson said on the *Happy Sad Confused *podcast Monday. "The script is great, I've read it. I think it's gonna be fantastic. But my journey was number one and two. I don't even think [my character] was supposed to be in three. And then Denis was like, 'I need to have one scene,' and I get one scene."

The Swedish actress played a central character in *Dune* parts one and two: A high-ranking member of the all-powerful Bene Gesserit sisterhood and the mother of Paul Atreides’ (Timothée Chalamet) — the messianic figure at the center of Frank Herbert's sprawling *Dune *universe.

Ferguson said it was "a weird feeling" arriving for her final scene. "Walking onto a set that you know so well, and knowing that you don't have a part of it. There's a lot of FOMO. And the acceptance of, 'This is just what it is.' You just have to serve [the story]."

First-look images from the highly anticipated concluding chapter were released on Monday, and show Chalamet’s Paul as well as Ferguson’s Lady Jessica, Zendaya’s Chani, Jason Momoa’s Hayt, Javier Bardem’s Stilgar, Florence Pugh’s Irulan, Anya Taylor-Joy’s Alia Atreides, and Isaach De Bankolé’s Farok.

And, for the first time, Robert Pattinson can be seen as new villain Scytale.

"He's an unusual character in the book," Pattinson said at a *Dune: Part Three* trailer launch event on Monday. "I mean, you can't really tell whose side he's on, and it's kind of what makes him quite interesting."

In the novel part three is based on, *Dune Messiah*, Scytale is part of the Bene Tleilax, a mysterious sect of genetically altered humans with specialist skills in genetic engineering. This group is the reason why Momoa's character Duncan is resurrected from the dead. "If you didn't read the books, it's not my fault," Momoa joked during an appearance on *Today* last year.

When asked about making a third *Dune *movie in 2024, Villeneuve told *Vanity Fair* "It's important that people understand that for me, it was really a diptych."

"It was really a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book," he said of *Dune* and *Dune: Part Two*. "That's done and that's finished. If I do a third one... it's not like a trilogy. It's strange to say that, but if I go back there, it's to do something that feels different and has its own identity."

On *Happy Sad Confused*, Ferguson raved about Villeneuve’s vision as a filmmaker, calling him "intelligent" and "creative."

"He's a master, and he works with people that he makes better, and they make him better," she told host Josh Horowitz. "It's a symbiosis. And they are few and far between."

Warner Bros.' *Dune: Part Three* is set to release its premiere trailer on Tuesday. It will hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2026.
