Kevin Hart is sharing why he's a little more lenient with his kids' curfew.

The 72 Hours star, 46, recently sat down with Alex Cooper on the Wednesday, April 29 episode of Call Her Daddy to talk about everything from his latest obsession with golf to parenting his four kids: Kaori, 5, Kenzo, 8, Hendrix, 18, and Heaven, 21. During the conversation, Hart shared that he's not a "strict" parent, explaining that he doesn't expect his kids to do things the same way he did growing up.

"I'm not that strict. You know, we're living in a different time. So, holding my kids to a time of old and expecting them to do and move the same way that I had to, I don't think that's fair. You have to be a little more lenient, a little more loose. So, the curfew is a little later," he said. "I will give you as much as you're asking as long as you're matching it with responsibility and maturity."

"If that starts to sway, now you're giving me reason to start to pull things back," Hart added. "So, I'm only taking things away because you're not doing what you said you were gonna do. So you can play the good game all you want, you can play me. You can have me thinking I got a saint as a child because you're on time, you're getting your work done, when you say you're gonna be back, you're back. When you say you're going somewhere, that's where you are. Hey, man, if you're in between those lines, I don't know what the f--k is going on in between that, but you're giving me that visual, I leave you alone."

The Ride Along actor shares his older children, Heaven and Hendrix, with his ex-wife, Torrei Hart. He later married Eniko Hart after his divorce from Torrei. The pair went on to welcome Kenzo and Kaori.

While speaking with PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of Apple TV+'s Number One on the Call Sheet, the producer and actor opened up about his fatherhood journey, sharing that he prays that all of the "crash courses" he gives his children are steering them in the right direction.

"I just can hope and pray that I'm being the best example possible," the Lift star told PEOPLE. "I think as parents we all give crash courses and what we deem to be education or great direction. You can only hope that your kids are picking up as much as you're putting down."

"It all does click at a certain time for children, especially as they become young adults," he continued. "You can hope when it's all said and done ... that all that information comes into play at some point. I can just hope and pray that the example that I think I'm being is the example that I really am being and all my time and all my energy that I'm throwing to them on a day-to-day is not going unnoticed."

The Think Like A Man alum went on to say that, above all else, he simply wants his kids to be happy.

"I think I have very good kids, well-mannered kids, but most importantly, happy kids. My kids are very happy with life. They're happy with love, and that love that they're happy with is love that they try to give others," he said. "I hope that that stays true and I hope they stay consistent."

After a perspective-changing moment came to him after his 2019 car accident, in which he suffered major back injuries and endured a long recovery process, Hart called his physical and mental transformation after the crash a “resurrection" in an interview for the March 2020 issue of Men’s Health. The Lil Kev creator explained that his recovery process has led him to “do better” and prioritize his family more often.

“I’m not trying to get back to where I was before — I want to be better than before,” Hart explained to the magazine. “It’s a resurrection. That’s the best way for me to put it. I feel like the other version of myself died in that moment and this new version was born to understand and to do better.”

“When s--t hits the fan, you’re going to realize that the things that matter are all you truly care about,” he continued. “Now I’m doing a lot of little things that are important. I’m sitting with the kids before and after dinner. We are doing Taco Tuesdays, Mexican food Thursdays, Chinese food Sundays. We got movie night twice a week. Now I’m walking my f--king dog. I’m picking up dog s--t.”
