The former Prince Andrew was spotted driving alone after being banned from the royal family's Christmas festivities, which his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie attended.
On Dec. 29, King Charles' younger brother, who has been called Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor since his princely title was stripped in October, was photographed driving near Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
Berkshire is also home to Royal Lodge, Andrew's longtime royal residence which he has been ordered to leave. That directive was announced alongside the decision to remove his royal titles, following renewed scrutiny over the extent of his connection to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In the new image, Andrew, 65, wore a blue parka and looked out of the car window. He was previously seen driving to Windsor Castle on Christmas Day, when he missed the royal family's Christmas celebration in Sandringham.
A Dec. 29 report from the Daily Mail identified the vehicle he drove on Monday as a new Land Rover Defender and reported that he was also seen driving it on Boxing Day, Dec. 26.

Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were not expected to join the royals on Christmas in Sandringham amid the recent scandal of his titles being stripped and revived spotlight on his ties to Epstein.
Andrew and Ferguson, 66, divorced in 1996 but have remained friendly and continued to live together at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Last Thursday, Dec. 25, Princess Beatrice, 37, Princess Eugenie, 35, stepped out in Sandringham to attend the Morning Service at St. Mary Magdalene. The princesses were accompanied by their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank, and attended church with family members including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Beatrice and Eugenie's appearance was a surprise following speculation that they would skip both the royal family's gathering and the holiday with their parents. Before the holiday, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie faced the difficult choice of accepting the King’s invitation or spending the day with their mother and father.
The sisters' decision to join the Sandringham walk signaled strong alignment with the wider royal family — and a united front amid a fresh wave of scandal concerning Andrew’s titles and ties to Epstein.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie appeared together as newly released documents and photographs from the U.S. Department of Justice resurfaced their father's connection to Epstein. One newly released black-and-white image showed Andrew lying across the laps of several women, their identities redacted, inside the saloon at Queen Elizabeth's beloved Sandringham House, where the royals privately spend Christmas. Convicted Epstein conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell was also visible in the image.
As Beatrice and Eugenie spent Christmas apart from their parents, the holiday was also Andrew's last at Royal Lodge.
The former Duke of York and his ex-wife were ordered to vacate the residence by Jan. 31 and the looming move added another degree of uncertainty regarding their daughters' plans. Some wondered if Beatrice and Eugenie would opt to spend the holiday at the family's longtime home instead of Sandringham.

In October, King Charles, 77, took the unprecedented step of stripping Andrew's princely style, titles and honors amid a resurgence of interest in Andrew's links to the late, disgraced Epstein. The American financier died in prison while awaiting federal sex trafficking charges in August 2019.
Andrew's ties to Epstein set his step back from public life in motion following a bombshell BBC Newsnight interview, in which he discussed his relationship with Epstein, in November 2019. The former Duke of York stepped back from his working royal role after it aired, but has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing
In January 2022, Queen Elizabeth stripped her second son of his military titles and patronages after a judge rejected his attempt to have Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre’s sexual assault lawsuit against him dismissed. Andrew then settled with Giuffre, who died by suicide in April of this year, out of court for an undisclosed sum.
Despite the fallout around their father, PEOPLE understands that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's royal titles and position remain wholly unaffected.
