Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 20 starts off exactly where the previous chaotic event left Left, Right, and Yuru in a fight that they have only narrowly survived. The pace of events does not slow down for a moment as we finally find out what happened as a result of the cliffhanger from Episode 19 in a bloody way.
Ivan manages to escape Left and Right after a tough fight even though he has been cornered, while Shingo dies at the hands of Ivan before he reveals any crucial information. As a result, rather than having a smooth victory, it seems that all characters go through traumatic emotions.

The twins think this will be another easy win, but Ivan is not as easy as anyone would think. His blades do far more damage than just injury; they cut away the very thing that usually acts as a shield for Left and Right after intense battles. Their stone-like durability is worthless against someone who can manipulate any material and energy with just one attack.
At the end of the battle, Left has been diminished to nearly a human weakness, which is a stark contrast to what she usually is in battle. Right gets to hold back enough to save Ivan from defeating them, but the fight shows the twins that this is no ordinary foe.
Shingo's Death Closes One Thread

Despite being presented as the main threat, Shingo is killed before he gets to say anything significant in Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 20. All Ivan does is dispose of him without giving him a second thought. All of this suggests that Ivan is beholden to a power much greater than the people he recruits to help him.

His death also means that one can no longer wonder about Shingo's motives, demonstrated by the fact that his daemons perish along with him. Raijin and Fujin show real power in this conflict, but never get the chance to show the extent of their abilities.
Mineyama's Reveal Shifts the Story in Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 20

The girl following Ivan at school proves to be more connected to the whole story than we thought. Mineyama is not just a passive witness; she helps tidy up the aftermath of Ivan’s killing and keeps people quiet in her creepy way. This is scary, as it indicates she has a big involvement in this process.
In addition to that, her appearance only makes the story of where Ivan is connected to even more complex, as both of them happen to originate from the same village. This suggests there is more than just a rogue swordsman behind the curtain, thus providing the ground for the future episodes to expand on, while the current episode does not stall.
Asa's Choice Raises Eyebrows
As Asa sees Ivan running away from the wreckage, she makes the mistake of letting him go, believing he is just another pawn in the plan instead of the one behind it. But by not capturing him, the man responsible for the havoc of the night is able to go free.
Moreover, this scene showcases one of the major themes established in the plot of Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 20: the cost of missing information. Asa's crew is focused on fighting Shingo without knowing that Ivan has started running the show already.
In a single fight, Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 20 brings numerous changes after the defeat of Left and Right, the unexpected demise of Shingo, and Mineyama's shocking appearance. The episode leaves the characters injured, the villains' list longer, and the mystery remains.
