Cult Classic ‘Fight Club’ Is Now Streaming on Hulu

It’s officially March, which means two things: the seasonal depression is packing up, and you’re about to break the first rule. According to Hulu's latest drop schedule, David Fincher's Fight Club officially arrived on Sunday, March 1.
The 1999 psychological thriller stars Brad Pitt as the charismatic, unhinged Tyler Durden, alongside Edward Norton as a burnt-out office worker spiraling through insomnia and existential dread. Helena Bonham Carter rounds out the trio as Marla Singer, the wildcard who throws everything into chaos. Based on Chuck Palahniuk's 1996 novel and adapted for the screen by Jim Uhls, the film follows two disillusioned men who channel their frustrations into a secret underground boxing ring — one that quickly evolves into something far more dangerous.
When Fight Club first hit theaters on October 15, 1999, it wasn’t exactly a box office juggernaut. The film earned about $37 million domestically against a reported $63 million budget. Critics were divided at the time. But over the years, it transformed into something else entirely: a cult phenomenon that never really left the cultural conversation.
Today, the film holds an 80% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a massive 96% audience score — a gap that says a lot about how it aged.

And then there’s the quote: “The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club.” In 2007, Premiere magazine ranked it “the 27th greatest movie line of all time,” and pop culture has been gleefully breaking that rule ever since, from Supernatural to Family Guy to Scrubs, where it became a never-ending Mad Libs template that’s been quoted, memed and recycled for more than two decades.

The timing of Hulu’s addition couldn’t be better. The film is in the middle of a full-blown renaissance — Fincher recently oversaw a 4K Ultra HD remaster, and Fight Club is heading back to theaters for a one-night-only nationwide event on April 22 before dropping on 4K Steelbook and digital on May 12.
A 25th anniversary art book packed with never-before-seen visuals and behind-the-scenes content is also on the way.
