It's officially RV summer for Chet Hanks.
The *Running Point* actor and singer, 35, confirmed on Tuesday’s episode of* **The Tonight Show* that he has moved to Nashville to pursue a career in country music and made a home for himself in a local trailer park.
"I didn't want to get an apartment because I literally just got a condo in L.A. and I furnished it, you know? It was like my first property, like, buying it," Hanks told host Jimmy Fallon.

He continued, "I didn't want to do that again, and I didn't want to furnish it, so I was like, staying in Airbnbs and hotels and that gets really old because I just like having my own space."
The musician, who is one half of country duo Something Out West alongside bandmate Drew Arthur, explained that he was inspired to try a different way of living after a recent road trip.
"I drove up to the Bay Area in Carmel… it's really beautiful, and I stayed in an Airstream trailer, and I really loved it," he said. "And I was like, 'Man, I want one of these. I want to get one of these.'"

And so he did! "It's not an Airstream! I'm not there yet," Hanks cautioned. "But I'm really happy with it."
The vocalist boasted that his Jayco Eagle trailer has "everything you need" to feel at home, including a kitchen and a "walk-in shower," which is a big deal in the RV community.
He's also getting to know his new neighbors. "I'm probably, like, the youngest person in the trailer park probably by like, 30 or 40 years," Hanks said. "It's not what you think, you know? You think, 'Oh, you're gonna live in a trailer park. It might be a little sketchy. It might be a little dangerous.' It's all just retirees, you know?"

And Hanks is trying his hand at some outdoor activities, too.
"I have a fire pit and I have used it," he said. "But most of the time, I just do exactly what I do at home, which is just stay inside and lay in bed and watch Netflix and things like that."
Something Out West released their debut EP, *Leaving Hollywood*, last June. A few months prior, they dropped a *Forrest Gump*-inspired music video for their single "You Better Run" that featured Hanks' dad, Tom Hanks.
In the visual, the elder Hanks can be seen sitting down on a bench next to his son, who is dressed as Forrest (the role that won Tom his second Best Actor Oscar), before turning to the camera and giving it a surprised look.
That's not the only way the proud dad has showed his support for his son's music career, either. Just last weekend, he was spotted rocking out during Something Out West's performance at Stagecoach Festival.
