Fans can rejoice—HBO Max’s The Pitt is finally back for season two. Similar to the show’s Emmy-winning debut season, the high-stakes medical drama is set at the fictional Pittsburgh emergency medical center—only this time around, it will take place 10 months later during Fourth of July weekend. For the uninitiated, The Pitt is widely celebrated for accurately portraying the adversity and around-the-clock pressure within a modern-day hospital.

What sets the series apart is its setup: every episode depicts a 15-hour shift, zooming in on the medical team and their professional—and, at times, personal—conflicts.
