One of the The Bold and the Beautiful's most stable marriages is on the verge of crumbling. The chief bone of contention between Steffy and Finn has always been his biological mother, Sheila Carter. From stalking to shooting, Steffy has faced much from her birth mother-in-law. However, recently, Steffy’s mother, Taylor, fell in love with Sheila’s husband, Deacon Sharpe. After some tense months, Sheila stepped back and divorced her husband, but asked to be part of Finn’s life in return.

When Steffy spotted Sheila on the beach during her Monaco reunion with Finn and learned he knew she had flown there, Steffy threw her wedding ring in the sand, walked off, got drunk on the flight home, and had sex with Carter Walton in Eric's office. While Finn is fighting to hold on to his wife, Steffy’s drunken mistake may become the last nail in their marriage's coffin.

From the day they wed, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) has been one of the main issue in Steffy Forrester’s (Jacquelin McInnes Wood) marriage to John 'Finn' Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). The criminal mother-in-law lost it one night in the Il Giardino alleyway and shot Steffy and Finn, but since then, she has tried to atone for her actions.

Despite Sheila’s crimes and creepy actions, she saved Steffy from Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) and walked away her marriage to accommodate Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) and her adulterous husband.

As The Bold and the Beautiful fans know, Sheila wants to reconnect with her son and grandson in return for her gracious move of letting her husband date Steffy’s mother. Although Steffy has vehemently refused to let Sheila in, there seems to be no respite. The Forrester CEO found Sheila hiding behind a beach towel in Monaco and promptly ended her marriage (temporarily). Moreover, Finn seems to be tilting towards his mother, making it tough for Steffy to fight the former criminal alone.

AfterSheila surprised her son in the airplane by sneakily booking the seat next to Finn, he firmly insisted that he would keep Steffy as his top priority, leaving no room for Sheila to be around them.

Thinking that Sheila will take the next flight back home, Finn let sleeping dogs lie when he met his wife at the church where they reunited four years ago. However, Sheila's flight was delayed, so she enjoyed a cocktail on a chaise lounge on the beach. When she hid her face under a towel, Steffy recognized Sheila's eight-toed feet and learned that Finn knew about Sheila’s arrival in Monaco but kept it from his wife. Steffy felt that Finn’s secrets counted as betrayal. This creates a trust issue between them. As yet, Finn is unaware about Steffy’s cheating. When he learns about it, the trust issue will turn on its head.

In a shocking twist, a betrayed and drunken Steffy arrived at Forrester Creations’ office only to find an equally drunken and despondent Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor). Carter was left wallowing in sadness after his wife, Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire), left him.

As the two lonely souls opened their hearts, they set aside their inhibitions and ha sex on the couch in Eric's office. Later, a shocked Steffy realized that her rebound what she had done and wanted to come clean to her husband. However, before she could manage to do so, Carter begged Steffy to remain quiet and save Daphne a heartbreak.

Taylor Hayes the main reason behind Steffy’s current predicament. Sheila was leading a reformed docile life while she was married to Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), running her husband’s business and staying out of Steffy and Finn’s hairs. However, after Deacon cheated on her with Taylor, Sheila’s happiness dried up. Although she reluctantly signed her divorce papers, she asked for inclusion in her son’s family in exchange, leading to Steffy’s current problems.

At the same time, Taylor turned a deaf ear to her daughter’s advice to stay away from Sheila’s husband. Despite past trauma and fear of safety of her grandchildren, Taylor refused to back away. Sheila’s lonelinessstems from Taylor’s selfish move, helping herself to Sheila's husband. As such, Taylor’s stance is the root cause of Steffy’s crumbling marriage. Moreover, Taylor may not give her the right advice. She may direct Steffy away from Finn instead of helping her hold on to the relationship.

When Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) learned about Sheila’s presence at the Monaco beach, he was furious and blamed everything on Finn. Since Steffy, who is reeling under guilt for cheating, is trying to forgive her husband, Ridge’s judgmental attitude may create complications.

Plus, Carter has pleaded with Steffy to keep their tyrst a secret from Finn and Daphne. Since Daphne is Steffy’s BFF, betraying her will add to the guilt of cheating Finn. This may pile on more strain on Steffy’s mental state and her marriage. While she tries to hold her sanity, outside interference may cause more damage.
