Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves first crossed paths when they costarred in 1994's Speed
The pair reunited on-screen for 2006's The Lake House and have shared memorable moments throughout the years
In 2025, PEOPLE confirmed the actors are set to reunite again in an upcoming romantic thriller from Amazon MGM Studios
Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves have one of Hollywood's sweetest friendships.
Their bond has spanned decades, dating back to 1994 when they costarred in the heart-pounding action flick Speed.
While Reeves was already a rising star at the time, cast in 1988's Dangerous Liaisons and the Bill & Ted trilogy, Bullock's turn as the sarcastic Annie was a breakout role for the actress.
"I felt very comfortable with Keanu," Bullock said during a joint interview with Reeves in May 2024 on the 50 MPH podcast about their dynamic in Speed. "There was nothing that I couldn't try or do or say that he wouldn't have, I felt, fought for me to do or say or try, and that kind of trust is very rare with actors. Anytime I threw something his way, he swatted it right back, and you just go, 'Okay, there's my partner.' "
Just over a decade later, the actors reunited on-screen for the romantic 2006 film The Lake House, giving fans another chance to see their chemistry. In May 2025, PEOPLE confirmed the pair were teaming up again for a romantic thriller in development at Amazon MGM Studios, with Reeves and Bullock both starring in and producing along with Speed producer Mark Gordon. Since their two projects together, they've remained close, appearing onstage together at award shows and on the red carpet.

At the L.A. premiere of their film Speed in June 1994, Bullock and Reeves looked oh-so-'90s in the best possible way.

Two years later, the pair reunited at ShoWest '96 in Las Vegas.
Though a sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control, was released in 1997, Reeves didn't reprise his role and join Bullock in the film because he "didn't respond to the script."
"I really wanted to work with Sandra Bullock, I loved playing Jack Traven, and I loved Speed, but an ocean liner? I had nothing against the artists involved, but at that time I had the feeling it just wasn't right," he said during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show in December 2021, per CNN.

The duo kicked off awards season, appearing at the 78th Academy Awards to present the Oscar for Best Art Direction to the Memoirs of a Geisha team.
Bullock and Reeves walked the red carpet together at the 2006 Oscars. The actress wore a dark blue strapless gown, and the action star looked dapper in a black tuxedo and bow tie.

The pals reunited with their Speed director, Jan de Bont, in October 2024 for the film's 30th anniversary.
As for more work together in the future, Bullock teased on the 50 MPH podcast in May of that year, "Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera."
Reeves, in the same interview, added of a potential Speed 3, "I mean, you know — we'd freakin' knock it out of the park."
Though there are no reported plans for a third installment, the two are set to work together again for an upcoming romance thriller, per Variety.

In December 2025, Bullock showed up to support Reeves at the premiere of his Broadway debut in Waiting for Godot — alongside friend and former Bill & Tedd costar Alex Winter.
"She was incredibly sweet and kind to everyone she met," an insider told PEOPLE of their interaction. "And watching her with Keanu, it felt like no time had passed at all."
